Expert Video - When should I start prehabilitation for lung cancer surgery?

Professor of nursing, Susan O'Conner-Von, from the University of Minnesota, discusses when you should start a prehabilitation plan for lung cancer surgery. She explains that the best time to start prehabilitation is as soon as you know you need surgery and recommends finding out if your healthcare team offers a prehabilitation program, or if they will create an individualized plan for you. Starting immediately is very important, to give you enough time to improve your physical and mental health before surgery. Doing so will also give you enough time in advance to prepare your needs and support networks for when you return home to recover after your surgery.
